The River Oaks Garden Club, 2015 Azalea Trail is only a month away. We thought we would share with you some of the floral arrangements from past Azalea Trails to get you excited about this year’s event and your Valentine arrangements.
We have the best time coming up with new ideas each year that best fit the houses being showcased.
Last year, we drew inspiration from Jeff Leatham, the Artistic Director of the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris for this kitchen island arrangement. Large bunches of hot pink roses, hydrangeas, and gladiolus were carefully balanced in oversized clear vases to compliment the sleek, marble waterfall kitchen island.
We wanted something dramatic in the entry of this River Oaks home that was on the trail a couple of years ago. We decided that boxwood garlands with mixed flowers draped around the homeowner’s antique terracotta statues would be the perfect addition.
This year we are looking forward to coming up with arrangements for a wonderful Tanglewood home that we designed which was featured on the cover of Luxe last year. We will draw inspiration from the eclectic mix of antique furniture, contemporary art and great architecture of the house. Please plan to attend this year’s Trail to see what we come up with, as well as the creative arrangements in the other fabulous houses and gardens.
The 2015 Azalea Trail will take place from March 6th through the 8th from 11 AM- 5 PM. We hope the weather cooperates and the azaleas will be in full bloom, but regardless of the weather, the Azalea Trail is a Houston tradition that is not to be missed!
Also, there is still time to vote! L/E Journal has been nominated for “Best New Design Blog” at the 2015 Design Bloggers Conference in Atlanta. Please click here to vote for us! Voting ends this Friday, February 6th. We thank you for your continuous support.

Thank you, Leslie! The flower sundaes were some of our favorites from last year’s Azalea Trail, as well.
