As the year comes to a close and the holiday season fills our hearts, we are here to share an exciting milestone with you – Lucas/Eilers Design will be celebrating 30 years in business in 2025! This remarkable journey has been shaped by the incredible support of our clients, colleagues and community, and we couldn’t think of a better way to honor this milestone moment than by giving back to the city that has given us so much.
To mark this special occasion, we’re proud to announce our “30 Acts of Giving Back Through Design” initiative. Over the course of the next year, we will be partnering with 30 organizations that make a significant impact within our local community. From nonprofits providing shelter and hope, to cultural institutions that inspire and educate, we will be shining a light on the causes that matter to us most.
Throughout the year, we will continue to share updates around our firm’s 30 acts, highlighting the organizations we’ve supported and how they reflect our commitment to service and generosity. We were delighted to kick things off this fall with Susan G. Komen, Build-A-Bed, and Mikey’s Place and we hope you enjoy a look at those below.
Susan G. Komen Passport to Hope: A Round Top Tablescape Event
We had so much fun designing this tablescape for an event benefiting Susan G. Komen! It was a wonderful evening made possible by everyone who joined in support, and we are especially grateful to The Compound and The White Barn at Cuckoo’s Nest for generously hosting us. Adorned with vibrant autumn florals, every detail came together beautifully to create a warm and inviting scene for a cause close to our hearts and an evening we will always remember!
Build-a-Bed: Sleep in Heavenly Peace
What an inspiring day it was to come together as a team and participate in Chapelwood’s Bed Build event benefiting Sleep in Heavenly Peace! Alongside many incredible volunteers, we worked with heart and hands toward a shared goal of assembling 60 beds which the group achieved in just a few hours. We are so moved by their mission, captured beautifully in their motto: “No child sleeps on the floor in our town.” It was an honor to play a small part in making that vision a reality.
Mikey’s Place Stroll & Roll
This fall, our very own Cami Moseley made a meaningful impact by joining her dear friend Jeanie Simonich for the Mikey’s Place Stroll and Roll on the beautiful trails of Terry Hershey Park. It was a heartwarming day filled with connection, community, and shared purpose, supporting Mikey’s Place and its mission to empower families raising children with disabilities.
Gifts From The Heart
As we embark on this meaningful journey, we invite you to join us this holiday season by supporting one of the organizations we’ll be partnering with in the months ahead. Whether you would like to make a donation, volunteer your time, or simply spread awareness, your involvement will leave an indelible mark on our city.
Susan G. Komen // Dress for Success Houston // Habitat for Humanity Houston // Memorial Park Conservancy // The Museum of Fine Arts Houston // Books Between Kids // Houston Botanic Garden // DePelchin Children’s Center // The Brookwood Community // Hermann Park Conservancy // Magpies & Peacocks // Bo’s Place // Star of Hope
In particular, Star of Hope’s 2024 Christmas Gift Catalog is a wonderful way to honor those you love while providing meals, clothing, shelter, and care to families facing homelessness this holiday season.
As we reflect on three decades of creating timeless, thoughtful homes, we’re reminded that design goes far beyond aesthetic beauty – it’s about the heartfelt connections we make, the communities we build, and the moments of joy we share with others along the way.
Thank you for being a part of our story. We can’t wait to honor this milestone with you in the year ahead!
“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
